About this experience

Go beyond henna as simple decoration and discover its cultural meaning within Amazigh traditions.
Your experience begins with a warm welcome over traditional Moroccan tea, followed by an
introduction to Amazigh culture and the important place henna holds in traditional customs and
celebrations.
You will discover the history of henna, its traditional uses, rituals and practices, and learn about the
symbolism behind different Amazigh henna designs.
Local women and a professional henna artist will introduce you to traditional symbols, their
meanings and techniques, as well as the preparation and traditional use of natural henna.
The experience then becomes hands-on. You will create your own henna-inspired design on a tote
bag, guided by the women practitioners. This gives you the opportunity to transform what you have
learned into your own creative piece.
You will then share a traditional homemade meal, such as couscous, before ending the experience
with a group photo while holding the pieces you created.
This is an opportunity not only to learn about Amazigh henna, but also to connect directly with the
women who preserve and transmit this cultural knowledge.
